Here’s a beautiful shed that Chris and Julia have built as a backyard office and play room for their kids to use when studying at home.
They sent us a lovely testimonial of how they found the whole process, and then Chris kindly followed up our questions with some more details about the custom galvanised steel frame they put together for the foundation of the shed.
This is Part 1 of 2, so let’s jump right into the warm fuzzy stuff with some pics of the finished shed, and Chris’ testimonial, (then in Part 2 we’ll take a look at the build process they went through to get here)…
“Our journey began during the COVID-19 lock down where we found ourselves short on space. With working from home and the kids schooling from home it was a challenge to have separate zones within our open plan home.”
“The first thought was to do an extension to the home, but we concluded that this option was not the most financially viable due to the high cost for only a small amount of additional space.”

“My wife Julia then started researching studios for the backyard. She reviewed a few companies and we quickly concluded that SheShed was the one for us.
Right from the first enquiries to the ongoing phone support we know we made the right choice."
"In addition to the phone support, we were extremely impressed with the quality of the materials that arrived in the kit. Everyone that has seen the studio has been very impressed.”
“We now use the studio as a kids retreat with internet connection so they can do their home schooling and hangout with cousins and friends.
We thoroughly recommend ShedSheds if you are considering additional space.
Chris & Julia"
In Part 2 of this mini-series, we'll look at the build process they went through, as well as some of the customisations that Chris and Julia made to their SheShed Star Cabin.
Which She Shed did Chris & Julia built?
Our most popular model, the Star Cabin, because at 9 square meters, it’s 3 x 3 meter size looks like a perfect fit for the space they had available in their back yard, and being less than 10 m2 the Star cabin also fits under exemptions from most local council building restrictions, so that’s always nice!
